The ACO is proud to work with a number of major Australian Universities, providing their students with the opportunity to work alongside ACO optometrists to provide care to our patients.
We provide a unique learning opportunity for optometry students, giving them essential exposure to a public health setting and preparing them for providing eye care to a diverse and ageing population. Our clinical educators bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program.
All consultations involving students are fully supervised by one of our experienced optometrists. If you attend our clinics for eye care, you may have a student involved in your consultation. We thank our patients for their generosity with their time as these consultations do take a little longer.
Please note that all clinical placements are organised directly through the universities. The ACO cannot accommodate an individual student request for a placement.
